Help me find this band/album that I've forgotten pls
Hello,
Never posted on the music section before, anyway I wonder if you can help me find this band that has been knawing at me for a while now.
I used to have their Vinyal lp, quite a few years ago, they are/were an American band, possibly a trio. The album cover was a painting of a night time scene , possibly of a garden.
The music was a sort rock/blues/prog type, I remember really liking it, I do remember the words (either a song title, album name, or band name ) "garden, good, evil" and it's not Midnight in the garden of good and evil!
I know it's not much, but I've bought back to life my Nad c524 cd player, Cambridge Audio v1 640 azures amp (nearly five years in hibernation) and paired it with some JBL's. I'm currently on music frenzy, I always had more Vinyal (though I have not bought any for years ) than cd's, and this LP is not in my stored collection anymore.
I think I really liked it so that's why I would like to buy the cd, but who are they?

They have a song called "Iron Butterfly" lyrics: "In the garden of eden, baby" Ring any bells?
you've swapped round the band's name and the song title ... and I also immediately thought it was this song too

The song is considered significant in rock history because, together with music by Blue Cheer, Jimi Hendrix and Steppenwolf, it marks the point when psychedelic music produced heavy metal. To wit, Blue Cheer's treatment of "Summertime Blues", Hendrix's "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", and Steppenwolf's "Born To Be Wild" - whose lyrics contain the phrase "heavy-metal thunder" - have in common insistently driving rhythms that typify music of the heavy metal style. In 2009 it was named the 24th greatest hard rock song of all time by VH1.
A commonly related story says that the song's title was originally "In The Garden Of Eden" but at one point in the course of rehearsing and recording, singer Doug Ingle got intoxicated and slurred the words, creating the mondegreen that stuck as the title. However, the liner notes on 'the best of' CD compilation state that drummer Ron Bushy was listening to the track through headphones, and couldn't clearly distinguish what Doug Ingle answered when Ron asked him for the title of the song (which was originally "In-The-Garden-Of-Eden"). An alternate explanation, as given in the liner notes of the 1995 re-release of the In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida album, is that Ingle was drunk and/or high when he first told Bushy the title, and Bushy wrote it down. Bushy then showed Ingle what he had written, and the slurred title stuck. It has been covered many times, such as the version by Boney M.

Thanks for your replies chaps, but its none of the suggestions. I recall it was the late 80's early 90's as I bought the vinyal as I did not have a cd player at the time.
They may have had beards, not ZZTop, Spotify has failed to yield anything yet.
Keep 'em coming

No, and I do apologise for the complete lack of information. Also the only reason I want it is a) I remember it being quite good, b) I'm not impressed by much new music and bands at the moment.
They sounded like a Lynard Skynnard, Steve Earle type of band with Pink Floyd undertones, sounds fantastic doesn't it?
I am detemined to find it, but I just now I 'll find it when I'm not looking for it.

85% hit rate would be The Groundhogs as they are a trio with beards who played blues/prog rock and have a track called the garden.
But it's just a stab in the dark really, sorry

Hi,
Been viewing AVForums for a while but never joined until today so please be kind with my first post. Been watching this post and think I may know the answer. I think the band you are after is Masters Of Reality.
Here's a picture of the album sleeve that's taken from their website under discography. Masters of Reality
I've got a copy of the Candy Song on 7" single somewhere but it's so long since I listened to it I can't remember what it sounds like but remember it being seventies type rock style.
