Anyone recommend me some music ?

hi guys,

I have recently been downloading a raft off music and I am wanting to make quite a good collection , my method at the moment is to use amazon , search for a band I know I like and then follow links and recommendations . I am also looking at customer reviews etc.

Bands I like and have looked at already : Pearl Jam (my absolute favourite ) Red Hot chilli peppers (close second) . Alice in chains , stone temple pilots , pantera , metallica , matchbox twenty (a new find). Stuff like this , but also like softer stuff like james taylor , newton faulker etc

So what do people like on here , any classics I NEED to own

P.s I dont like the beatles (possible sacralige there but oh well)

download spotify and check out the music for yourself. its a free streaming program that lets you listen to anything that they have in there collection( and it is quite a substantial one).

ok off the top my head and as you havent mentioned them (but may already own them) try disturbed, the prodigy, stone roses, the jam, the sex pistols, led zep, pink floyd, nirvana, radiohead, primal scream, marilyn manson, iron maiden, the doors. loads and loads more but in all honesty without seeing what you already own it is very difficult.

two albums that you may not have heard of (unlike those recommended above which i feel are staple tunes for any music lover) but i would recommend to anyone are the klf - chillout and roger waters - the pros and cons of hitchiking.

Re: Anyone recommend me some music ?

Noticed you like Rock music, therefore I recommend,
Dio: Holy Diver and Queensryke: Operation Mindcrime. Two of my favourite albums.

Re: Anyone recommend me some music ?

i would recommend signing up to spotify if you havent already - you can stream all the music before you decide to buy it and it also has a recommendation engine of some sort..

we just use this now all the time in our offices..

Re: Anyone recommend me some music ?

A couple of weeks ago a friend mentioned to me a chap called Joe Bonamassa, does a mixture of Rock and Blues.

Since then i've been listening to his stuff constantly, great stuff. He's done about eight albums already, each pretty unique in their sound and style.

Thoroughly recommended!

Awesome album, for your heavier fix, look towards Megadeth - Rust in Peace and So far, so good, so what.

As you like a few grunge bands I would recommend the Singles Original Soundtrack album.

Being a PJ fan you perhaps already have it but I recommend

Temple Of The Dog - Temple Of The Dog featuring Chris Cornell, Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder on backing vocals

Spotify and last.fm are awesome for following the trail not knowing where it will take you. I have discovered a bunch of new music and artists through them
