Got to say, they are my favourite band. Find myself listening to them on an almost daily basis. One of those bands that just keep popping up.
Saw them at the Manchester Apollo last December, stunning set - part of the "Steel City Tour" with Heaven 17 and ABC. League did about 1hr 10mins - absolutely amazing. Sounded much better than their live DVD at Brighton - they've obviously pumped a fair bit of money into their live shows recently.
Have a few interviews with them on DVD, always found Phil Oakey very interesting and it's refreshing that he basically says "we just copied Krafterk"
Any other fans here want to talk HL? |

Happy to !
I've seen them about 4 times in the last four years or so.
I'm dead against all these 80's bands reforming for money Ultravox please step forward), Human League never broke up and clearing had spent time touring, touring & touring.
Really good live would surprise quite a few people |

I still enjoy listening to Dare which is a superb album, Love and Dancing is worth tracking down if you haven't heard it - it is basically an instrumental remixed version of Dare and is credited to The League Unlimited Orchestra.

Is this the album that had all the Dare tracks remixed like 12" versions?
Love to hear this again but I bet it hasn't aged well.

I bought Travelogue and Reproduction the other week both still excellent albums, I do still like the earlier Human League stuff and do have Dare and the Love and Dancing albums on cassette somewhere, may buy them again on cd, but went off HL after Dare, except for Fascination, excellent bass line) and Lebanon, tended to go for BEF or Heaven 17 stuff over them at the time. I do like "1st man in space" the song Phil Oakey did on the All seeing I album.

I'll have to check some their stuff out. Any songs you recommend specifically for me to download?

There's too many to mention. Here's a discography. The Human League discography - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Louise, Human, One Man In My Heart and The Lebanon to start with. Most of their singles were very good and a lot of the album tracks as well.
All the very best

Great band, saw them a few years ago & they were still excellent.
I used to buy loads of limited edition vinyl records, Depeche Mode, Human League etc...sold a lot years later on ebay but still have a few bits, think I still have the 7" Louise Picture Disc
(or maybe I sold it )

'The Circus of Death' is currently my favourite song of all time, and has been in the top few since I bought the 'Being Boiled' single back in the very early 80s when it was re-issued and had this absolute gem on the B side.
I urge you to look on Youtube for the video.
