Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

Good God what a rubbish line up. Could they not find any more middle of the road indie bands to flesh it out a bit with

Not for me I'm afraid.

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

I'm sorry Smelly ,but i'm with the others on this i have never taken the "V" festival serious enough to warrant going (does that sound snobby ?)

i don't get the feeling (although i have not been, maybe because it's newish ) it's a "real" festival .if you could see my facial expressions now you would know I'm cringing as i type this ,knowing your going to take it the wrong way

are you heading north (staffordshire ) or staying down with the shandy drinkers ?

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

I've just been offered a freebie for Weston Park on the 22nd, and you know from looking at that line up I'm struggling to think of an excuse to get out of going, without looking ungrateful to my mate

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

It just seems that though there are hundreds of festivals, the line-up's just seem the same over the last couple of years.

LOL!!! Now you know I never take things the wrong way signs

Ok, so its not the best line up - although for me the Killers and Elbow make it worth while. Wouldn't mind seeing Biffy Clyro, Seasick Steve and haven't seen Oasis before - neither love nor loathe.

I've been to V for the last few years - this is the 3rd - and I love the set up. Ok so Ive not done Glastonbury or any of the others so happy to concede its because i have nothing to judge it on!!!! But in my defence I'll say - its big enough that you get a variety of music to keep you happy, but not so busy you don't get to miss anything. I've seen some great stuff there too....Muse were fantastic...as were the Foo Fighters.

I'm hoping there might be some more acts lined up closer to the time - and there are quite a few I'll definitely be giving a miss...

However you miserable lot - I'm happy to be going again (down shandy drinking Chelmsford sorry Signs!)

EDIT: PS: my 500th post!!!!! Again

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

Lol ! Oi !! Leave V alone......is a creditable festival

I'll be going again as I always do. My mates love it and I love my mates so I wouldn't miss it for the world. I put my hands up and admit though, its a total posers festival....I'll give you a million quid if you can spot a white person with dreadlocks in the sea of canvas trainers and check shirts with the top button done up

Will be watching the Killers (will be the 3rd time this year) and of course Oasis (will be the 2nd time this year)......Fatboy Slim leaps out at me, and of course......The Specials

Otherwise I'll see you in the Bacardi tent

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

No, and never again after last year at the Staffs site.

Perhaps it's my longtime Glastonbury attendence but I though V was AWFUL; rip off prices (even by festival standards), a complete lack of adequate toilet facilities (I really don't need to see teenage girls crapping up a fence under floodlights) and everything closing up, bars and all, by 11pm (I mean, what?)

Utterly terrible.

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

its shocking even for v!

was hoping it was ging to be a good lineup with it just being down the road.

got our first child born in june so had to get refund for glasto ticket and download out of the question. SO was looking for a blockbuster lineup for v, very tempted by reading with radiohead lined up but its a terrible festival for atmosphere.

so it looks like just sonisphere fest!

Re: V Festival line up - anyone going?

If you worship at the throne of Q, it looks like heaven on earth. If not, it's painfully middle of the road. How much is it, £160 or so? You could spend less than that watching the few decent bands and still have enough left for a small local festival for the "vibe".
