Question Donnie Darko Soundtrack/Score

Just trying to help out a friend.
Does anyone know which is better, the soundtrack or the score.
I know that MAD WORLD is on both albums which is reason enough to purchase one of the above.
Also it seem very difficult the find either in any shops or even on the net.
All comments welcome

Try cd101.com for the Donnie Darko sound track. Although you wont find any of the original artists on it no Tears for Fears or Echo and the Bunnymen. Better bet is to go for a TFF best of and the best of Bunnymen. There was an import of TFF red cover check out cd101.com or I sometimes use cdnow for looking up older releases. Otherwise stick with Tears Rolling Down (I think)...

I've been meaning to order some TFF stuff for ages after watching Donnie Darko. So after you reminded me I had a look at a few sites and decided to order Shout:The very best of TFF and the soundtrack which are on offer at amazon.com when you buy them together it worked out at 36.95 dollars. Which works out at about a tenner each

While you're at it, check out some of Gary Jules other stuff. Great music, across the board.

I don't think the point of getting the Donnie darko Soundtrack is to get the TFF version of Mad World. The version in the film by ??(can remember his name) is quite superb and quite different from TFF (though the TFF version is good in its own right)

Managed to download a Mp3 of Gary Jules's version and recently found Tears For Fears version. I don't think that there is any comparison.
Gary's version is in a class of its own, lately I've let it play on repeat.

The TFF album is brilliant, and should be purchased anyway IMHO. It's almost a must have CD just like Paul Weller - Stanley Road

Bumping this back up, Mad World has got to be xmas No1 in my book. DD is of course, superb, but I had'nt realised that Gary Jules wrote the score for the film.

Gary has had two albums and was dropped by A & M records due to his lack of success. Mad World is off his second album, Trading snakeoil for wolftickets (totally sold out on Amazon so Im going direct). The albums both score 4.5 stars in the all music guide and a few downloads have convinced me that this bloke is going to be an overnight legend.

The music is described as a cross between Nick Drake and Tim Buckley.

Wouldn't 101cd.com be better than cd101.com?

They've been playing it all week long on Radio1.

Its been Jo Wileys record of the week.

Release date is the 15th Dec, so obviously xmas no 1 is what they're gunning for.

NOOOO! Mad WORLD is not by REM.
The original was by Tears for Fears, the donne darko version was by Gary Jules.
