Lightbulb musical coincidence quiz

Now, on the JA thread, it was noted that there is a slight similarity between the opening few notes of the new single and GnR s Summer time city.

So for ten points (cos I cant remember), which U2 single has more than a passing similarity to A Ha s 'The Sun only shines on TV' ?

Right Answer.......then you can have a go.

Beautiful Day, as in "it's a beautiful day (da da daa da da daa) the sun always shines, on TV"

"Greece 2000" by Three Drives on a Vinyl and Kylie's "Can't Get You Out of my Head" have exactly the same bassline. I can't believe Three Drives didn't ask for compensation.

Oasis borrowed the riff from REM's 'The one I love' on 'Morning glory'; I think they also lifted some Gary Glitter on that album, and obviously there's more than a hint of the Beatles in all those sevenths they use, and Liam's cod-psychedelic lyrics. Apart from genuine tribute bands they have to be the most derivative group there is (albeit with a handful of good songs).

Your so right, for an additional 10 points (before you have your turn), what B side of a Sweet single sounds like the riff from Zeps immigrant song.

OK, fine, I don't know and I'm not sinking to cheating and checking on the interweb so you can just tell me

One for you, who asked Noel if he could nick his chords to write a very similar song (better if you ask me).

B side of the 'hell raiser' single called 'burning'. You know, Sweet got quite heavy on that single and got heavier as time went on.......check them out sometime.

As to the Noel question, can you give me a few clues as to what I am supposed to provide an answer to. If its what chords did Oasis nick off the Beatles......answer is , all of them, well apart from the difficult ones that required more than 3 fingers

Now, if its a song by Oasis, that someone else nicked the chords from (and by default, The Beatles), then I have to have the song title.......its only fair

Someone ripped off Wonderwall, but now it's as easy as pie. Easy pie at that
