Took a chance and ordered this for my brother. It hasent been played yet, but the signs are not good - only 'Linear PCM Stereo' is mentioned on the back - if this is the case, then what a rip!! - the concert was only recorded in 2002, so why no 5.1 at least?

btw - although i ordered it from play, i actually based my information on the Woolworths site ,which was one of the few that gives any details. And according to them, the DVD is in 'dolby digital'

Orchestral works don't usually benefit from 5.1 mixes, so I wouldn't be too concerned on that front - unlike the work itself - I'm still having nightmares having heard a snippet of it at my mum's place (she listens to Classic FM ).

Excellent news (for anyone interested) - menu audio options include DTS 5.1 . Why this is missing from the back cover, and DVD sites, is anyones guess.

Also in 16:9 aspect ratio

hope this info helps any fans out there.
