Thanks: Gave 111, Got 132 | Plant Agrees To Zep Reunion?
*** Source from Planet Rock ***
25th September 2008
"Three-quarters of Led Zeppelin have apparently given Robert Plant an ultimatum – rejoin the band for a tour or they’ll replace him.
Reports in various tabloids suggest that Page, Jones and Bonham have told Robert Plant that he can either tour with the band next year, or they will find a replacement to tour as their lead singer.
According to several of these reports the three non-singing Zep members have even been rehearsing at the Ritz Studios in London with an unnamed American singer and are prepared to ditch Plant for him.
One of those great “sources” said "They've been rehearsing frequently in London and the band is really gelling."
And today it seems that Plant has reluctantly agreed to the reunion tour. The Sun quotes another “source” as saying
“The rest of the band had all but given up on Robert joining them, but they were determined to go ahead so had started to seriously explore other avenues. When Robert realised the band were serious about doing it without him, it made him think long and hard. He realised he couldn’t face the thought of not being involved. The band were over the moon when he told them the news. They are now forging ahead with the tour plans and they can’t wait to get on the road.”
Now this is probably a load of old bull, but we can dream can’t we… "
What do you think are the chances of this happening.. ?

I could see a tour with all four of them happening...maybe just a one-off world tour and then leave it at that.
You wouldn't see me there though. I have an image in my head of iconic Zep from the 70s and I don't want it changed.

I hope that he doesn't.
Especially if it's true that the rest of the band are effectively blackmailing him.
Is there any need for them to reform or any other band for that matter?
He's having a second wind at the moment, so why should he rejoin?

He's having a second wind at the moment, so why should he rejoin? | If it's done for the right reasons, then why not? The likes of UFO have re-formed and are playing well, and more together than any time since the early 80's.
I can see what you mean though, if it's just for the dough (hi the Police ) it's a real turn off.

I know he pulled off the O2 gig but having seen him earlier last summer I reckon he'd struggle to do it on a full tour.

I have read rumours that they were auditioning/practising with an American singer - quite possibly that bloke from Virtual Zeppelin who sounds just like him.
Maybe that prompted Bobby into action.

Yea so RP doing it for all the wrong reasons. If it goes ahead and they fall out the Zep story will have a shambolic end. He should only do it if he really wants to and for no other reason.
