AC/DC tickets?

AC/DC's world tour has begun with the sale of tickets for the north America/Canada leg.

Show for Toronto [55,000] sold out in 30 mins and those for Boston [19,000] and Ohio [20,000] sold out in 15 mins. Tickets were $90.

Now I really really would like to take my son to see them in the UK. [They are the only band he hasn't seen that he wants to]. However, we wouldn't be prepared to travel to Wembly for instance. So, is it worth the gamble of joining the AC/DC fanclub [$40] for a ticket sale passcode? What's the chance of a proper UK arena tour as opposed to a one-off big gig?

Another question about the fan club deal. The fan club website states the following:

Fan Club members may obtain a unique passcode for use during the Fan Club On-Sale for the show of their choice. Fan Club On-Sales happen at the same time as the general on-sales, but are for members-only. There is a two ticket limit.

This isn't the usual presale offer then . What is the point of it actually? The t&c does state that if you don't get tickets you are entitled to a refund on fan club membership.

Any thoughts on this?

Re: AC/DC tickets?

Well. I know it may be a bit impatient of me, but I just couldn't wait for them to relaese their UK dates.

So I've brought tickets to one of their shows in the states, and im flying over just to see them.

Adding in the ticket price, airfare and Hotel, this could be the most expensive concert for me ever, but I reckon it will worth it.

Really? . Good on you. I hope it's all you hope it to be. Just don't let the folks on the "carbon footprint" thread hear about this.

Re: AC/DC tickets?

They seem to be doing an arena tour of the states - bit cold for stadiums .

If the same follows through to the UK it will (hopefully) be MEN Arena, NEC, etc rather than Wembley and the Millennium Stadium. Fingers crossed.

I will NOT go to another stadium gig again - 'cept maybe Floyd or Zeppelin.

I HATE stadium gigs.

Re: AC/DC tickets?

They've always played Wembley Arena in the past, but I recon AC/DC could easily sell out the o2, totally agreed with previous comments about Stadium shows, but I did luck out at Maiden and managed to get really close without too much problem.

Re: AC/DC tickets?

Another one hear who really wants to see them live this time.

Never seen them before and will be disgusted if I don;t get tickets this time.

There are big rumours of a Slane gig next August in Ireland - now that would be great. Fingers crossed.

The problem with shows in the UK is that they will probably go on sale at the same time for all cities. So say you decide to go to see them in Manchester, and sit on the net but fail to get tickets for that show, then by the time to try to get tickets for somewhere else, they'll all be gone too.

Fair play to the guy heading to the US to see them. Now thats commitment. If I didn't get tickets to the UK/Ireland shows then I would definitely consider Europe. I MUST see them this time round.

Re: AC/DC tickets?

I saw DC last time when they played Milton Keynes (and that gig at Hammersmith), and getting tickets was no problem at all.

But things have got so bad with the internet/fleabay etc, that I can see any dates selling out within an hour or something stupid, and all the touts getting the majority of the tickets to re-sell

But I could be wrong. I just want some news about when the tour will be and when tickets go on sale.

Re: AC/DC tickets?

I was lucky to see them on the last 3 tours and tix were easy enough to get hold of. I particularly enjoyed the Ballbreaker tour!!

Last time out my first thought was "wow" they've got old and slowed down, but they still rocked as hard as ever!!

Can't wait for this new album and tour - not too impressed with the new single, its AC/DC for sure but kinda by the numbers!

Re: AC/DC tickets?

I was told by a friend you were limited to two tickets per household, to stop the touts doing the fleabay price increase thing!

This i can understand, but how the hell are supposed to buy more tickets if you need more than two?

I would love to see AC-DC, but getting tickets are gonna be difficult if they are selling out quickly?

Cheers
Lee

Tickets were on sale on fleabay BEFORE they went on general sale.

That to me shows that the ticketing system is one big scam. How can these sellers know for sure that they will get tickets? Because they have inside people in the ticketing agencies, or else they are all in cahoots.

Why sell a ticket for £45 when you can sell it to a tout for £75 and then they can sell it for £120. They all win, except the public lose.

Re: AC/DC tickets?

Yes it's a great shame, when the touts are in for making a quick buck!! (At our expense!!)
