Always loved Placebo. Every track on every album just has something about it that hooks you in. This new album is no exception. In fact, Brian and the boys are on top form here. The album is mostly mellow and emotive, yet the "non-mainstream" melodies are surprisingly catchy, even on first listening.
Pure class. Very highly recommended.

I saw Placebo live in Bristol on their first album tour and I have to admit, they absolutely rocked the place. Much, much better than I thought they'd be.
Brian Molko does have a knack for writing immensly catchy power pop tunes. I guess they fill the void for all those who loved Trent Reznor's stuff circa 'Pretty Hate Machine' but found the later NIN stuff a bit too heavy/industrial.

Got a bit of a pasting in the music rags ( whats new ), I have one album the self titled Placebo which is pretty good, dont play it a lot but they certainly rock. I put them in the same catergory as Skunk Anansie, which is no bad thing.
Dont think I will be buying it, cos I seem to be turning into a country / folky
I should change my Avatar to more accurately represent my current fad, perhaps a beard and Arran jumper would be a start

Placebo
The White Stripes half of the time, the other half is tip top stuff.
Then again I like Linkin Park, so obviously I have no taste in music whatsoever

Thanks: Gave 44, Got 139 | I cannot comment, but cast your ears around Elephant, I dont think you will be disappointed.
Stop listening to nu metal and get down with some folky stuff
Or make a start with some Neil Young

In all seriousness, I see no musical similarity between Placebo and WS.

I can't be disapointed with Elephant as, after the first White Stripes album, I barely have expectations that it will be music, so they can only impress me. Which they wont. Placebo are ok, did a decent version of Big Mouth Strikes Again, my favorite Smiths song. But their stuff is a little bit samey, maybe it's his voice, I dunno.
