Tribute Bands

Tribute bands...I just don't get them .

Now I know there are some which have a fabulous reputation and have become full time touring bands in their own right, but for me, if I can't see the original musicians I just wouldn't want to see a group of no-names instead.

It's not just hearing the songs of a band I like being played live, it's seeing the guys in the flesh who wrote and performed the songs originally and if they aren't available to see then I'd rather not bother.

Re: Tribute Bands

I know what your saying but some of these cover bands are very good and sometimes sound better than the real thing.

Some of the ones ive seen and been very impressed by.

Illegal eagles

Bootleg beatles

The Jamm

U2uk (a local band who i think are now doing this has a fuul time job)

Re: Tribute Bands

I can't understand what they're about. The original band have only a limited number of good performances in them. A tribute band are only copying any original spark which will soon die.

My late dad was a great George Formby fan. When I was a kid long after Formby had died he took me to see a Formby tribute bloke called Alan Randall.

Cheers
Bri
