Yes, another great SACD Release.....

This is for any Oasis fans here (feels like I'm the only one ). Sony have officially anounced they are to release Heathen Chemistry Oasis' 5th Studio album on SACD with a 5.1 mix. It should be hitting the streets December 30th but some source say that will be brought forward.

Another title I can't wait for

Regards,

I think i'd rather have heathen chemistry than Yes- the only album of theirs I like is 90210 (or whatever ) and no real Yes fans rate that one. Releasing Oasis will be a big boost for SACD, so quite a wise move on Sony's part. Now we want oasis's back catalouge re-mastering, when they were at thier best.

Hi Gambit,
I agree, I think they should release some of the early stuff. I would suggest their first (and in many ways greatest) album and even the album of their greatest B-Sides (The Masterplan). Some of the songs from both these albums would sound good in 5.1 SACD (Columbia, The Masterplan) but the majority would benifit better from a well remastered stereo SACD mix.

I think songs like talk tonight and Angel child ( I know it's not on the Masterplan but it's my favorite B-side) that sound better as two channel, because you feel luike Noel's right there. I think they should be careful but stuff like Slide Away and the whole of the Be Here Now album would be ace in multi-channel.

I don't think Be Here Now would make it to SACD due to the fact that Noel himself thinks it's their worst album (maybe so, but I still love it), but I have heard the group are releasing a reworked version of the first album next year to mark it's 10th anniversary. I think that would be the perfect time to release the SACD due to the fact if their remastering for CD it wouldn't be that hard to re-encode for the SACD format. (I'm not a studio engineer so that's a complete guess )

C'mon Finsbury Park DVD come out
