Anyone Know What this Record Is?

Bit of a long shot but...

Many years ago (about 1994?) I was in a hifi shop and they were playing a record, which only contained drumming, or at least the track I heard. It was drumming on a drum kit so no bongo's or african drumming or anything like that.

Think the start of Money for Nothing type drumming

I wish now I'd enquied at the time as I've often wondered what it was, so any ideas?

Could have been some kind of hifi recording (as it was a Linn & Naim dealer as opposed to Dixons or Richer Sounds) or maybe just some random rock album?

It could well have been one of the Sheffield Labs reference discs.
I have one at home which has 2 Drum Solo tracks on it.

I'm going to agree on this. "The Sheffield Drum Record" sounds plausible.

I think i'll give the Sheffield Labs stuff a go.

BTW would this have been available on vinyl? as that is what was being played not CD.

Sheffield Labs started on vinyl many years ago. They used to press their records on extra heavyweight virgin vinyl. The sound quality was superb.
