Anybody catch Velvet Revolver this month?

If so, what did you think?

I saw them at the Brixton Academy on Tuesday night, and thought.......it was a poor performance.

Yes, Duff, Slash, Matt and Dave were tight, but Scott was awful i thought, he looked a spent force. Reading the reviews of previous gigs it looks as if his voice blew out a few weeks ago, and he hasn't yet fully recovered. Plus the terrible sound mix at the Brixton did not help. I've never been to the Brixton Academy before, and i don't i'll bother again, truly awful sound quality.

Previous reviews also mention that Scott has said this will be the last VR tour, but not everybody confirms he actually said that. There have been rumours of a STP re-union as well.

VR have also been on stage late just about every night, stating problems with Scott's mic the problem.

I've seen them 4 times now, and last night was the poorest gig yet.

Your thoughts?

Re: Anybody catch Velvet Revolver this month?

I saw them last night and they were great Loads of energy and very tight. They also started dead on time. Maybe you just got them on a bad night.

Scott's voice seemed fine. He was quite low in the mix though so maybe that was done to cover up some problems. Band sounded great though.

I know what you mean about the sound, it was a bit harsh. I don't think that's Brixton though. I've been before and it sounded fine. It helps to get be nearer the front though these days I must admit I tend to hang out closer to the back

The crowd seemed to have a great time last night too. Really good atmosphere throughout and the crowd went absolutely nuts when they played G'N'R songs.

He did say VR is its last tour but Slash has since said that it may be Scott's last tour but VR will go on. Wonder if Axl is looking for a gig

STP are getting back together. They are playing some festival next month and if it goes well there will be a tour apparentely.

Re: Anybody catch Velvet Revolver this month?

I saw them at Brighton last Thursday it was the first time i have seen, them and i thought they were great. They were really late coming on it was pretty close to 10.00 before they even came out. They sounded ok to me seeing the legend that is Slash in the flesh was cool, amazing guitar solo A nice selection of songs and a great performance of patience. I hope VR continue either with or without Scott.

A quick video i took of the band as they were coming out, with Scott's announcment it was pretty funny:

Yeah, it was kinda expected. Wonder who they'll replace him with.

As, it took them years to hire Weiland, after 1000's of auditions.

Re: Anybody catch Velvet Revolver this month?

There we go then i wonder what will happen now?

Just checked the band site there is no mention on there yet? Quite strange you would think there would be an announcment on there of all places.

On a slightly different note, I think it would've been so cool if Izzy had been their rhythm guitarist!
