where to find / what they mean

the matrix number is usually the catolologue number of the recording.luckily enough i had a original david bowie laughing gnome and was told to look at the matrix number and if it was printed upside down it was worth quite a bit of cash,sold it on ebay got 130 quid for it so always worth checking on web for info,i also sold my punk collection which where mostly 1st pressings i fought i would get not a lot for but in the end i made around 5-6 grand.
