Paycheck in..... Spec me some CDs please

Well, Paycheck went in yesterday, plus I have an amazing new Lyngdorf amp coming next week to bring my ATC speakers to life and I need loads more music

Last cds I bought were mainly electronica and DnB, but also some clapton, diana krall etc. Albums looking at atm:

Sigur ros - Hvarf / Heim, takk, Agaetis Byrjun.
LCD soundsystem - new album (sound of silver).
Nu-tone - new world.
Lamb - best kept secrets.
portishead - portishead
verve - bitersweet symphony.
head automatic - decisdance (however you spell it).

Would like some 'all time classic cds' so to speak, e.g. got clapton unplugged, and looking for others to really enjoy on my system. Any ideas welcome as I am always forgetting cds i really wanted to buy.

WOW thanks a lot, lots there i forgot about loads of them, especially nirvana, jeff buckley, and radiohead.

My music taste, well anything really. I love electronica and DnB, but not jungle or anything hardcore. Indie is pretty good but soo many bands get boring and samey. Being 22 now i really appreciate some older bands and music, will try get into some pink floyd. I love chillout, ala zero 7, sia, portishead, massive attack, and especially acoustic music. claaton unplugged is a masterpiece.

Just recommend some great cds and probably get them.

Chillout, then try the Orb.....Adventures beyond the Ultraworld.

Acoustic, try Friday Night in San Francisco with Al DiMeola, paco de Luca and John Mclaughlin or Aerial Boundaries by Micheal Hedges.

True chillout is Smokey Jazz. Miles davis Kinda Blue is a great starting point or if you like female vocals try Ella Fitzgerald-Here comes Charlie

For electronic you can't beat Ladytron - Witching Hour, there next album is out this year but Witching Hour is an excellent cd.

Give the first track High Rise a go ........

Re: Paycheck in..... Spec me some CDs please

As you mention electronica you cant beat:

UNKLE - Never Never Land (especially tracks "Reign" and "In A State")
UNKLE - War Stories (especially tracks "Restless" and "Burn My Shadow")

Also well worth a listen:

Grand National - Kicking The National Habit ("Drink To Moving On" is one of my top songs so far this decade)

These are relatively new releases (2004-present day), but I would class them as classics

Enjoy
