Will MOS be releasing an Apr/May 2008 "Funky House" album as in previous years?

For the last 3 years since 2005 Ministry of Sound have released a rather good funky house sessions album every april/may, I just wondered if anyone had heard anything about a 2008 one as I have heard nothing...

Cheers.

I stopped buying MOS Albums about 6-7 years ago when they started to bring in all the cheesy crap! Then they went and bought Hed Kandi and did exactly the same, ruined an awesome underground label and now they release tosh!

Buy the Defected Miami and Azuli Miami 08 compilations, much more enjoyable. And check out Fierce Angel aswell, its Mark Doyles (Hed Kandi Creator) New Label.

I agreed with the above, what went from a decent comp with named DJ's now is a computer mixed horror of chart tracks.

Anybody heard the Clubland series?, crickey what on earth is that about !!

Why do "named DJ's" no longer mix the albums?

Is it just a matter of MOS thinking they could cut costs and do the mixing themselves?

God knows, probably because they have to pay 'em !

Most commercial comps these days are computer mixed by the engineer.

Otherwise, the vast majority of "named" compilations tend to DJ's who have a connection with the label.

I was a great fan of the early Euphoria releases, the frst 4 or 5 were excellent, live mixed by PF Project or Agnelli & Nelson, but the series went downhill

yeah 1 of my fave things about the disco kandi albums was the small blurb written by Doyle on the inside label.... i havent bought a house compilation in ages now, i have heard of the fierce angel but if i'm honest i fell out of the scene last year after i spent the previous few years obsessed with vinyl hunting...

i still think the glory years of house music for me where '98 - '01, what the likes of minsters de la funk's believe and ron carroll releasing some awesome tracks around that time it was a good time to be into the house scene........
