Re: PRINCE @ Croke Park Ireland - 16th June 2008

there has been a rumour around for this gig for a long time, and likewise denmark on 12th june, supposedly the promotor arranged for 3 european shows with paris and milan the other two cities, but not london as he played 21 nites in the o2 last year, the first time he toured europe since 2002, and before that 1998. he usually leaves long gaps between tours to ensure they sell out quickly

there were rumours of the 21 nites at london whispered around for a while before being confirmed, but nothing at all at the moment about anymore london shows, so don't hold your breath. my bank manager has contacted prince's management to personally request no further uk shows until my overdraft is cleared

Re: PRINCE @ Croke Park Ireland - 16th June 2008

it looks like he will be playing milan (san siro) on 14th june, dublin on 16th june, and paris (parc de princes) on 20th june

that info ties in with promotors comments, no further info about denmark on 12th june. none of these dates apart from dublin have been officially confirmed, but the 14/16/20 june is more than likely tbc very soon

20th June is incorrect. Tokio Hotel are playing there on that date.

Re: PRINCE @ Croke Park Ireland - 16th June 2008

I am out of the country when the tickets go on sale for the Dublin show, and have always wanted to see him.

Does anyone fancy getting me 2 tickets off Ticketmaster that morning if they are trying themselves?

it's an 84,000 venue, so i don't think it will sell out that fast, not after most of his european fans travelled to london for the 21 o2 arena shows last year. i'd imagine most people travelling would go to milan or paris instead of dublin

ticketmaster had references of presales starting tomorrow, but so far i don't know what this is about as prince has no current official website, and someone i know asked about presales and vip tickets etc, but there is no special seating, so you shouldn't have a problem getting a ticket. even the o2 shows didn't really properly sell out in 20 mins, it was all a big con

I will try myself when I get back then. Hopefully there will be some left.

Re: PRINCE @ Croke Park Ireland - 16th June 2008

http://www.ticketmaster.ie/artist/73...ket_brand=home

tickets go onsale today in about 15 minutes. some leaked onsale yesterday by mistake (TM regularly make these mistakes whilst testing the site)

there is a "gold circle" pit down the front, but it's all standing on the pitch, no vip is planned so far, likewise no aftershow. apparently that venue is massive, and the pitch is bigger than a normal pitch as the irish rules of rugby mean they use a bigger pitch or something (what i know about sport can be written on an atom), so the seats at the side will be a fair distance from the stage

cool. was that the A or B areas? apparently A is closest to stage, and the F row is the first row available in seating as they don't use rows A to E when people are on the pitch for concerts

apparently ticketmaster have made a right mess of ticket sales again, just like the o2, but it's intentional to sell as many crap seats as possible first, then put the better ones onsale later. for some reason the gold circle tickets are cheaper than some of the seats

Gold B. I have heard all sorts of different things as to what the "B" part means. I guess wherever it is should be a decent view.

Bad news for so many fans.

I realise that they will refund you the ticket price, but many are bound to get hit with charges from hotels for cancelling so close to their booking.

Shame.

if you cancel within 48 hours most hotels will give refunds. it's trickier with flights, but even some of the budget airlines will allow credits on other flights if you cancel
