Audioslave

No idea how this band managed to stay under my radar until now.

Of course they are broken up now, but I am amazed how good their music is.

"like a stone" is one of the best songs ever imo.

I hadn't even heard of soundgarden either.

And no, I haven't been living under a rock.

Sounds like you've been under a rock mate.

Have you heard of Rage Against the Machine?

Re: Audioslave

Yeah I have heard of RATM

I was more into heavy metal and punk in the early 2000's in my uni days.

Re: Audioslave

Awesome band. Revelations is my fave of their three imo, with Shape Of Things To Come one of my faves of the album.

Re: Audioslave

Superunknown by Soundgarden is one the great 'grunge' albums. A must buy.

Re: Audioslave

Great combo the remains of Soundgarden and RATM, but Cornell (lead vocal Audioslave) left Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences. However RATM reformed Coachella festival,

Superunknown is a good album, gets my vote. If your into soundgarden check out Alice in Chains, The Melvins, Sonic Youth, Pearl Jam and obviously Nirvana.

I would also add.....

Temple Of The Dog-Temple Of The Dog

...as some of the best stuff Cornell has ever done.

Massive fan of RATM and Soundgarden so when the rumours were confirmed about Audioslave i was pretty excited.
First time i heard any of their new material was when i saw this video, i literally wet myself......the build up to the opening riff is awesome !

Re: Audioslave

You might also want to check out the Chris Cornell Live in Sweden acoustic set. Great sound quality and quite a few Audioslave tracks - great singer Cornell

Re: Audioslave

i discovered Audioslave before RATM! love them , still do, and miss them....its the only band that iv justified spending £120 on a ticket to see them play MEN back in 2005, i envy those who've seen RATM, i well wnated to see them at Leeds i just couldnt make it. A friend of a friend when the RATM played their first show after reforming in coachella, LA, spent £1000 on just getting a flight over there to see them and stayed for 1 night!!! how mads that!?
