Who Haven't You Seen

Who haven't you seen live but would like to?

I haven't seen [and now never will]:

Black Sabbath in the early 70s
Thin Lizzy [with Phil]
Bowie early 70s
Gary Glitter [I know, I know, but I believe he put on a good party show]
Pink Floyd performing The Wall
UFO [Schenker/Mogg/Way/Parker line up]
Elvis
Sex Pistols
Queen at Live Aid

I haven't seen [but still might]:

Van Halen [with DLR - 80s would have been good, but it might still be fun now]
Status Quo
Rush

Everything else worth seeing, I have seen .

Re: Who Haven't You Seen

I would have loved to have seen ROBERT PLAMER live but unfortunatly that is sadly not possible anymore

I think Chicago when peter cetera was still the lead singer

and

Genesis with phill collins on vocals

Both of the above I have not seen live but would if i could.

You just missed Rush last year mate. Very good too. Probably be another 18 months before they come back.

Always regretted not seeing Queen.
Ditto Bowie and Sabbath
And of course the mighty Zeppelin....

Not seen Bruce Springsteen - but might see if I can blag a decent ticket if any come up at the last minute. Only seats left at the mo are duds at the back

Be great if VH come over for a European Tour, but not holding my breath.

Never seen YES either.... possibly not much chance now since Jon Anderson's getting on a bit these days.

I was fortunate enough to see Genesis, Thin Lizzy, UFO and the Floyd.
UFO have reformed (again) and feature a fairly original line-up of Mogg, Parker, Raymond, Way and Vinnie Moore.

Re: Who Haven't You Seen

Seen Yes a few times. Saw Bowie in the 70s. Zep at Knebworth. Queen 1975ish who started the show with Bo Rhapsody Robert Palmer a few times -great performer. Saw Gary Glitter in about 1978/9 in the middle of the punk era - a totally mixed audience and he won them all over.

But the greatest live performer bar none is Springsteen. Get any ticket you can and go

People I have missed

Faces with Rod and Ronnie Lane
Free with Paul Rogers and Kossoff
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Hendrix

I have never seem the Spice Girls and hope I never will

Re: Who Haven't You Seen

I've seen almost everyone that I've wanted to in some form or another.

Although it wasn't possible to see some bands in their original form, I've made up for it in the only way I could.

I wish I could have seen Black Sabbath, but instead have made do with seeing Ozzy once and a form of Sabbath in Hammersmith Odeon (early 90's). Same thing with Led Zepplin. Have made do with Plant & Page (No Quarter, and then again a couple of yrs later when they played some of the classic songs). Most recently I had to make do with Roger Watters (Dark Side), the last band on my list were Floyd but that will never happen. As a Doors fan, I managed to get tickets for an Evening with Ray Manzerek a few yrs ago. Turned out to be a fantastic night.

Obvioulsy there are some that it was impossible to see like Hendrix or Thin Lizzy (my brother seen them many times).

Although not a fan, I'd liked to have seen an Elvis concert

Re: Who Haven't You Seen

of act's i've never seen at all...

the beatles (preferably at the cavern, although a theatre show would be interesting to see the beatlemania)
elvis (i'd love to have been at a vegas show)
marvin gaye (got to be a early-mid 70s period)
stevie wonder (got to be in 74)
miles davis (the 74 era again, or live in a club late 60s)
al green (a mid 70s show again)
funkadelic (mid to late 70s)
led zeppelin (in the 70s)
issac hayes (mid 70s)
barry white (mid 70s)
aretha franklin (i'd love to have been at the gospel church gig for the live album amazing grace)
wham!
the clash
sex pistols (on one of the early shows)
jimi hendrix (preferably a club show)
queen (at live aid)
neil young (the pre harvest tour)
michael jackson (i'd like to see him with a proper band play in a club without the theatrics and dancing)
santana (70s again!)

and to have been at shows like woodstock, wattstax, live aid, and george harrisons concert for bangladesh would have been cool too

there's loads more too...

and act's i've seen before, but would like to have seen at another time

pink floyd (DSOTM pre album tour, 1974 winter tour, animals tour and wall tour)
rolling stones (a classic 70s gig, or a small/unplugged type show)
prince (seen him too many times to count, but i'd love to have seen the really early shows or been at the show that purple rain's tracks were recorded at on 3rd august in 1983 at first avenue. seen him in mpls, been to the venue, but just not then)
david bowie (i'd love to have been at the ziggy show, i was at the 30th anniversary show at the hammersmith appollo, i'd also like to have seen the 1980 floor show and some other 70s gigs)

there's loads more, but i can't think right now. i'd love to see a number of act's play at classic/early tours, in small venues, particularly clubs, and before they are sick of playing songs for years. most of the acts listed i'd have liked to have seen in the 70s, but preferably in the smaller shows than the huge shows they were normally doing back then, or at least been down the front to hear and see things properly. being stoned or on acid at woodstock or a santana, floyd or grateful dead concert must have been pretty amazing, or being at a really great mid 70s rnb/funk/soul gig from a real classic artist like aretha, marvin, james brown, geroge clinton, and to have experienced some of the real progressive jazz artists like miles, coltrane, hancock, etc in the late 60s to mid 70s would have been pretty cool. i'd just like to go back to the periods where bands were at the peak of creativity and perhaps before mainstream success, and see what the bands were really all about, instead of the later cash in tours
