| Re: Who Haven't You Seen
of act's i've never seen at all...
the beatles (preferably at the cavern, although a theatre show would be interesting to see the beatlemania)
elvis (i'd love to have been at a vegas show)
marvin gaye (got to be a early-mid 70s period)
stevie wonder (got to be in 74)
miles davis (the 74 era again, or live in a club late 60s)
al green (a mid 70s show again)
funkadelic (mid to late 70s)
led zeppelin (in the 70s)
issac hayes (mid 70s)
barry white (mid 70s)
aretha franklin (i'd love to have been at the gospel church gig for the live album amazing grace)
wham!
the clash
sex pistols (on one of the early shows)
jimi hendrix (preferably a club show)
queen (at live aid)
neil young (the pre harvest tour)
michael jackson (i'd like to see him with a proper band play in a club without the theatrics and dancing)
santana (70s again!)
and to have been at shows like woodstock, wattstax, live aid, and george harrisons concert for bangladesh would have been cool too
there's loads more too...
and act's i've seen before, but would like to have seen at another time
pink floyd (DSOTM pre album tour, 1974 winter tour, animals tour and wall tour)
rolling stones (a classic 70s gig, or a small/unplugged type show)
prince (seen him too many times to count, but i'd love to have seen the really early shows or been at the show that purple rain's tracks were recorded at on 3rd august in 1983 at first avenue. seen him in mpls, been to the venue, but just not then)
david bowie (i'd love to have been at the ziggy show, i was at the 30th anniversary show at the hammersmith appollo, i'd also like to have seen the 1980 floor show and some other 70s gigs)
there's loads more, but i can't think right now. i'd love to see a number of act's play at classic/early tours, in small venues, particularly clubs, and before they are sick of playing songs for years. most of the acts listed i'd have liked to have seen in the 70s, but preferably in the smaller shows than the huge shows they were normally doing back then, or at least been down the front to hear and see things properly. being stoned or on acid at woodstock or a santana, floyd or grateful dead concert must have been pretty amazing, or being at a really great mid 70s rnb/funk/soul gig from a real classic artist like aretha, marvin, james brown, geroge clinton, and to have experienced some of the real progressive jazz artists like miles, coltrane, hancock, etc in the late 60s to mid 70s would have been pretty cool. i'd just like to go back to the periods where bands were at the peak of creativity and perhaps before mainstream success, and see what the bands were really all about, instead of the later cash in tours
