Question SACD v DVD-A

If this has been discussed to death, forgive me, but what is the consensus of opinion on:
a) which generally sound better or tend to be mastered better

b) which is considered most likely to survive, or is there a future for both?

I am itching to buy a Denon DVD A1, but it won't play SACDs!

In my limited experience, DVDA has the technical edge in theory but in practice very few of either format are mastered well. If Pioneer can churn out good players very cheaply that will play both formats well, it's the single format player that will not survive as no-one will want to risk backing the wrong horse
