Help with a song name

The Steve Miller Band did a song back in I think the 70's and then it got re-released due to a jeans advert. What I want to know is, is it called The Joker or Space Cowboy?

Thanks

It's lucky that there's enough old boys around here to answer these questions for you.

I knew it without looking it up

Came out around the same time as I was starting to get into music as a kid

I knew that. I was only listening to it last week.

It came out in 1973 and then charted in 1990 and got to number 3.

Okay, I better revise what I said then 'cause there's no way I could've been into music in 1973

1990 is too late though.

I think it must've re-charted a few years after 1973, in the Eighties perhaps?

Cool

Then there was that other song with jokers in, ‘Stuck in the Middle With You’, By Stealer’s Wheels also in 1973. Good year for Jokers.

Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree was also a hit in 1973 by a bunch of jokers.

Dawn featuring Tony Orlando, follow up with Sweet Gypsy Rose.

Bell records, silver label, bought them both on day they came out.

Before that he had Candida, Knock 3 Times and What Are You Doing Sunday all in 71 but if you want one of Tony Orlandoe’s best records you will have to go back to 61 when he was a solo act and Bless You.
