Can't stand him or crap R1............Complete s*** that still believes in it's own importance without realising it helped contribute to the abysmal state of music in this country.

Complete and utter Jodrell Banker in my view, in love with his own voice and not even the slightest bit funny.

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

........if only he was as funny as he think he is.
used to have to listen to him when i was working nights and he was doing his right early hours slot when some lady rang in and showed him up he got a right sad on and was on about sacking the guy who answers the phone for letting get through.....
saviour of radio 1.....only a complete merchant would give himself a title like that.

......''you're not funny you're fat and whats more you look like you should be''

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

After years of listening to Radio 2 (I was even on Ken Bruce's "Popmaster" once), I was introduced to Radio 1 and Mr Moyles by my driver's mate when I started my current job.

Loved him from the start. Very funny. The "Self-proclaimed saviour of Radio 1" thing is done completely tongue in cheek, playing on the image that many people have of him.

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

Used to find him funny and entertaining but these days is just boring and talks too much. Never liked Scott Mills or his brand of humour, each to their own though.

The greatest shame of recent years is Lauren Laverne leaving the XFM breakfast show. She always cheered me up.

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

One of the few shows I would listen to on Radio 1. All of them are dictated by the playlist anyway. Listened to Both his and Sara Cox show (who I cant stand), think she was in for Jo whiley (liked her when she did the evening session wth Lamaq), and I found both shows pretty easy to listen to with the music not too bad.

All dictated by the music anyway. I have tried to listen to Radio2 as everybody says it's sooo good. In my 30s so should appeal. I just find they play too much terrible and predictable music much like R1, only for R2.

If Radio needs a DJ then Chris is a pretty good one to have.

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

I find the best talking DJ is Chris Evans, Moyels can be funny but his routine has gone stale.

Mills is just schoolboy pap

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

Two faced, condescending and arrogant.
I remember some time ago he was taking the mickey out of a female artists record, and then a few weeks later he had her as a live guest and was fawning all over her saying how good her music was.
I try to avoid listening to him whenever possible.

Re: Chris Moyels Radio 1 good or bad

stopped listening to Radio 1 during the day once Mark & Lard left ... its as cheesy as it was in the Smashey & Nicey days of DLT, Simon Bates, Gary Davies and Bruno Brookes

apart from some evening shows its just a vacuous radio station for teenagers, chavs and readers of Heat mag
