Daft Punk's "Discovery"

Great album. Shocked to find a plastic card inside, similar to credit card, with a personal membership number for www.daftclub.com Let's you download some remixed choons and a live set. Nice one

Yup, bought Moon Safari years ago mate when it first came out. Their other albums are also great.

If you like Air, try Zero 7

Between you me and Gambit, we are all going to have to get second jobs or rob a bank if we go on recommending albums to each other

Either that or get IanJ to sponsor us with his hidden millions.

Excuse me sir, I am a student and take pride in my not-working-scrounging-off-my-parents lifestyle
(just joshing, I sell hifi/AV gear )

If you like "discovery", try "homework", that was the album before it, with that classic "around the world" on it. Good stuff. And Orbital are pretty good, bit heavier dance vibes but "the altogether" is pretty listenable.

Although I'm not usually a fan of regular house music, I did buy 'Discovery'. The track 'Digital Love' is worth the asking price in it's own right.

SG's right about the fan club/membership card idea, a really nice touch. Some bigger, more conventional bands should take note although I think (hope?) we'll see more of this type of marketing as it's also a weapon in the war against piracy.

I bought that as well. At the moment, my CD buying has overtaken my DVD buying Homework's not as good as Discovery as there's a few duff tracks on there, but there's so many tracks, it doesn't make too much of a difference

Thing that struck me about Daft Punk is that they're a bit like Massive Attack in the sense that you always knew a few of their tracks, but never realised it was them

Homework is the worst album I bought last year. Unbeleivably poor. .

I quite like Discovery, but it's a bit Euro-pop y, it is saved by some good tunes and humour.

Homework is a proper Dance album. All big beats and no tunes.

Got "Discovery" on now and I tell you what, for a dance album it sounds great late at night

Miles different to Homework though!

Don't know them Gambit. How about U.N.K.L.E. or DJ Shadow?

I think it's a good album, but not as good as 'Discovery'.
There's a lot worse albums out there than 'Homework'.

Depends on your music taste obviously. I am not really a Dance music fan, and I would definately rate 'Homework' as a Dance album. If you like that sort of stuff then it has certainly had good reviews.

Discovery is more of a Dance/Pop/Rock crossover album and although a bit cheezy much more to MY taste.
