Electric Guitar package for a beginner?

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showt...ghlight=guitar

Found the above thread which recommended the Yamaha Pacifica 112 as a good starting point. Found some reviews online as well -

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/revie...aha/index.html

Most of them say it is great as a first stab at learning and is suited to rock music (which is what I like). Can anyone tell me how the Pacifica 012 would compare? Can get a package here for £134 -

Would this sound similar? Or does anyone know where I could get a 112 + amp etc for not much more than this?

Hope someone can help!

Would not know one good guitar from another but this site does give a lot of choices.

Re: Electric Guitar package for a beginner?

I don't know much about that particular guitar, but it looks as if the 112 is about 40% more expensive on average, with the main difference being that is has an alder wood body as opposed to the agathis body of the 012.

That probably means as much to you as it does to me, but it does give an indication as to where the money is going.

You might try a look here too:

Re: Electric Guitar package for a beginner?

The yamaha pacific has allways had good reviews ever since it was released on the market.
I had one when i first started playing the guitar and was very pleased with it and have had guitars twice the price which are not much better.

Re: Electric Guitar package for a beginner?

My son is selling his guitar:

Harley Benton HBL400CS Sunburst Les Paul Copy -
Not available any more, when bought cost around £100 and has a stand.
He's looking for £60 excl delivery (pickup preferred). Any use/good?

It's the one on the right!
