Maybe not released in 2002, but that's when I listened to 'em!

Audioslave - Audioslave
Rival Schools - 'United By Fate'
Killswitch Engage - 'Alive Or Just Breathing'
Wilt - 'My Medicine'
Weezer - 'Maladroit'
Foo Fighters - 'One By One'

Biggest musical wrong of 2002?

The blasphemous actions of Courtney Love, the music industry, music press and music buying public drones who all contributed to the hatefull Christmas packaging of what was the musical genius of Nirvana, with a pathetically MOR 'Best Of...' record and that tripe single that was never finished and never meant to be released.

A crime against a whole generation.

Top five:

Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the deaf
Red Hot Chili Peppers - By the way
Foo Fighters - One by one
Coldplay - Rush of blood to the head
The Vines - Highly Evolved

It was actually a very good year for albums if you forget about all the boy band / girl band rubbish as we also got good albums from Pearl Jam, Supergrass, Feeder, The Datsuns and Moby. Lets hope 2003 will be as good

The Future Sound Of London returned from a 5 or 6 year hibernation with their album The Isness. It's definitely an FSOL album, there's no mistaking that, but made with proper instruments and somehow managing to come up with an ace slice of prog rock meets jazz meets....not sure really. It sounds nothing like anything they've done before yet fits perfectly alongside everything in their back catalogue. A real earopener.

Jessica Bailiff's "Untitled" album was excellent.

I'm looking forward to the release of the new Funki Porcini opus in the next couple of weeks too. US version comes with a free DVD aswell. Groovy.

We dont have any taste, SG would have put Will as his number one if it wasnt for the p**s taking. Infact I think thats why hes abstaining from the top 5 since 1980, I have a deep suspicion GGGareth would be in there.

As for me Ive been a Darius fan for ooooooo ages

Well there all better than the Coral. Ahoy, Karkus! (from now on, I'm changing every thread in sight to a Coral bashing one).

There were two threads about them, one of which was mine, a while ago. You really must pay more attention to the Music forum

Haven't a clue. I've not heard Backdoor. It does make you think of early Genesis, Pink Floyd, Gong, and Bo Hansson (his Lord Of The Rings album especially) though.

Watch it! Anyway I think it was the name Audioslave that put me off the threads... sounds like a DJs alter-ego who pays the bills doing remixes.

Avast James! The Coral have in fact been disqualified from this event due to too much looting and plundering. Sorry me hearty.

Dont do it James, you can have my copy for free, load of s**t IMHO. Get Rival Scools album instead, brilliant......U2 meets Nirvana.......not too punk, not too HM, why they arent blasting out of every duke box and radio in the land is baffling.......listen to their single Glue.
