It's raining outside, I'm eating cheese on toast, and listening to Disintegration. Everything in the world is ok.
Any other fans of the Cure hang around here? If so, what do you think of this -
I quite like it, but seeing as I've long retired the black eyeliner, I'm kinda out of the loop. I think AFI are what you would now call Emo, but they just look like Goths to me. What's the difference?
It's seriously bugging me that I can't figure out if Robert Smith in the audience is looking on approvingly or not, too. I suppose I should be happy that the Cure seem to be a big influence on a lot of these new bands, but it just makes me feel ancient.
Hey, I'm a Cure fan, we worry about stuff. I think it's genetic.
Not a massive Cure fan but do like some, i think the new Killers album is very "Cure"

Yep, I agree. The Killers sound more like the Cure than the Cure at times.
I was more of a fan in my school days. I was the typical moody teenager and they just hit a chord with me. I haven't listened to them for ages, but they're one of the few bands I was fond of from my teenage years that I still like to return to every once and a while. Even my username is in homage to them.
I believe next year they plan to mark their 30th anniversary with a new album and a DVD documentary which promises to include interviews with everyone who has been in the band, so it should be a documentary of Lawrence of Arabia sized proportions.
Y'know, I find it strangely reassuring that after all these years the Cure are still doing their thing.
