Metallica - coming next year !!

If anyones intrested the latest news is the album is apparently `amazing` according to Bernstein (one half of their managment, who normally never quotes on any music) and is due next year - probably mid year`ish, as they are gearing up to do ALL the festivals in Europe - so that means headlining Reading.
And the big news is they are doing a co-headling tour in the States with Eminem, all over the country at the stadiums around july/august time (pencil me in for N.Y and Florida ) with Eminem going on first, the gigs are on friday, saturday and sundays("weekend warriors"),and should at that rate last about 2 months, sounds good to me.
Apparently the whole package is coming, so expect the dvd making of the album/tours/everything that goes with a new album,etc...........

Metallica and Eminen touring together?
Same concert?
Well, they do not need each other to fill the stadium? Why then?
Seem no sense to me.

No they don`t need each other at all,BUT it will be the biggest tour attraction of the year bar none, and whoever thought of it (I expect Lars had a hand in it) is one clever cookie

Whoever got an idea I somehow have feeling it might not work well. They are simply too different for common tour! Just MHO!

The tour Anthrax and Public Enemy did together went down well. That was a few years ago now, but the obvious musical differences didn't actually make a difference.

Sure, but for me Antrax and P.E. are miles closer than Eminem and Metallica.
Latter are comercial stuff, others more other way around!

I can imagine Metallica fans hating M'n'M and bottling him. Hope he gets a glass coke bottle on the temple.
M'n'Ms fans will hate Metallica, too.
Chalk 'n' cheese. Daft.

I know a few people who are into metal but will listen to hip hop, i think this has a lot to do with the nu metal scene (limp bizkit, linken park etc). All of the people I know who are into the metal scene own at least one cypress hill album, or a busta rymes album.

But on the other hand I know hardly anyone who is into hip hop that will listen to metal.

I think it will be very benificial for both parties, eminem has done a track with Marylin manson, and fans of both stars enjoyed it, proving that 2 completly different kinds of music can be used to better both genres.

Sorry to burst the bubble, I actually rather like both. The Eminem Show is a good album. If you can ignore the swearing, the messages in his songs are very powerful.

And Metallica are just "the dog's"!

I like both too. I think it'll be good for both types of music.
Anyway I don't think Eminem or Metallica fans are that ignorant of other types of music, IMHO.

Metallica and Eminem all right by me, as long as Eminem is the warm up act. Must say I like to see, just one band at a time unless the bands are similar musically. Is this going to be an outside event? If it is I might just give it a miss, Im too old to roll around in muddy fields, looking through a pair of binoculars at the band and putting up with a PA system that is designed for indoor concerts.
