karkus30,

its not as good as 'ten',
ten is my favorite album ever.
their sound now is so different from the ten/vs days.

but saying that theres some stonking tracks on'riot act' .
still rockin but without as much aggression

Ordered "Riot Act" Friday night as it happens, from Play.com for £8.99

Also ordered "Yield" for £9.99 from Play - awaiting stock on that one though..

Still, I have my "Eddie's Archive" triple double CD box set from IM to keep me going !!

Whats on the scroll?

I was a big IM fan back about 20 years ago, I still think the first album is the beat and was an important influence on a lot of later metal bands. they were one of the first to incorporate classical arrangements for guitar on phantom of the opera (pretty radical for its time).

Next in line is NOTB, some classic galloping maiden tracks.

Although I bought many of the later albums, they never achieved anything further, bit like Metallica in that respect, they also produced two astounding albums Master of Puppets (again using that classical feel) and the Black Album a much more commercial album with very shiny production by Bob Rock.

A family tree of IM and their members over the years, including bands they were in prior to & after being in IM. The scroll is also individually numbered as a LE set.

I have to disagree with you about them not doing anything new though..SSOASS was an awesome concept album, ok they did lose a bit of their way prior to Bruce's departure and Blaze taking over as frontman (Although IMO he still rocked) but now Bruce is back they are getting stronger and tighter again - now with 3 lead guitars !!

Been a fan since about 1981 - was 9 years old when I was taken to see em live for the first time with my older cousin and I think I've missed only 1 tour since !!

Even went to Rio last year !!!

I did'nt bother with them after Poweslave, became a MSG fan for a while, then did'nt bother with music except chart stuff until about 8 years ago, when my cd and album collecton expanded at a meteoric rate.
