I fell in love with this piece of music since Shine the movie appeared on the screen and everytime I hear this on the radio I feel exhilerated.

So which recording should I buy?

Any comments on artists ,implementation and emotive resonance would be highly appreciated.

I have a range of Rachmaninov music, but bought them cheap years ago as part of a HMV range. It is some of my favourite classical music so would also like to know if there any better versions around.

As far as I remember there was a CD/SACD that came out a couple of years ago that was meant to be very good but just can't remember the name for the life of me!

This is the one I was thinking of. However, this is only Piano Concerto 2. I would recommend getting a different CD with his other masterpiececes, particularly Piano Conerto No 3.

This seems a safe bet.
