Re: Enter shikari

It's hideous. It sounds like any other screamo/emo/post-hardcore/whatever band but with some ****** trance beats poorly added.
There are many bands who have done the whole dance/rock thing better than this.

Re: Enter shikari

I'm not sure why there has been so much fuss over them tbh unless I'm missing something

Re: Enter shikari

I agree with Nick25 and Refused.
What's all the fuss about?
It's OK I guess, but nothing particularly brilliant. Just seems like any other emo-ish (?) band thats around at the moment.
It's ok but everytime i turn kerrang!/ scuzz on their video is on.
Yet another case of all hype and no substance? I'll reserve judgment until I've heard their album

Re: Enter shikari

Just to be fair I have only heard one song of theirs (something about 'last half an hour' in the title) but I'd imagine the rest of the album to be similar.

Re: Enter shikari

ive not heard the album yet, but i heard the ep (and saw them live twice around 18 months ago) and they put on a fantastic show, however energiser was the only song that i actually really like (and i fairly regularly listen to it). to be honest they've tweaked their sound quite a bit now and they dont sound the same to me. i think they're obviously trying to appeal to a wider audience with the introduction of more 'singing' vocals. their singles/videos have been quite terrible and im not sure what the fuss is about. fair play to them, they've done very well for themselves, and its been out of sheer hard work. they pretty much non stop toured for a couple of years, completely all over the country. their small live gigs were very good and their music was pretty decent, but nothing too special. they've been picked up by the magazines and tv channels in the same way that arctic monkeys did, even though the majority of people i speak to dislike the music they make.

oh and there are tonnes of bands that mix that style of metal/screamo with trance breakdowns so much better than ES, and i imagine lots of exisiting bands might want to cash in as well now

Re: Enter shikari

Famously The Times did a piece about them and accompanied the article with a picture of Shakira. See the current issue of 'Private Eye' for details.
