Kaiser Chiefs

Yours Truly Angry Mod

Boring album. No stand out tracks, Ruby is the best one and let's face it we've all heard just about enough of that already.

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

Never really a fan, but I actually have to turn the radio off when Ruby is played.
This is the best track on the album?

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

Only listened to it twice so far and totally agree, track 8 (can't remember what it's called) is also OK.

I was hoping it would be a grower but I'm not sure!

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

Just want to say that they are the most boring band of all time. Can't believe they're so popular! Is modern British music so devoid of talent? Yes. Bloc Party are on another planet compared to this lot.

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

I like Track 2 The Angry Mob but the lyrics on the rest of the tunes comes across as very immature.

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

I liked a few tracks on Employment, but after watching a program on tv about them a couple of weeks ago where basically they swanned around boasting, i have since made a decision never to buy anything of theirs ever again. They were so far up their own ar**s and they are pretty standard sounding anyway. I prefered the Chris Moyles version of Ruby over Kaiser Chiefs anyday.

What a short sighted question - of course it isn't sir! Just look a bit further than the top 40 and you'll find some tremendous music out there...

Just a few examples:

Cajun dance Party
I Was A Cub Scout
The SemiFinalists
Data Select Party

Go go

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

I never got it with The Kaiser Chiefs. Right place, right time, just like Oasis. I remember one New Year's Eve they played Jools's Hootenanny and a bunch of half-sloshed B-list celebs were in the audience singing along to the interminably long Oh My God I Can't Believe It, I've Never Been This Far Away From Home (is that the title? Bl**dy dull tune, whatever it's called). Amazing what crap people will sing along to when they're hammered on free booze.

I was lent the Employment album by someone who was pretty enamoured with them and I was not taken with it at all.

Seems to be that nowadays the public is impressed with the very mediocre; the least taxing it is, the more they like it. Was that always the way? I dunno, I'm going back to my Miles Davis now, anyway.

Re: Kaiser Chiefs

I think the album's a grower - as well as Ruby and The Angry Mob I quite like Highroyds.... not as good as Employment but I still like.
