Everytime that advert comes on t.v. you know the one that features the song 'so happy together' by The Turtles, the strange syncopated drumming style which comes in about half a bar too late made me wonder who it actually was.......well it wasnt the Turtles original drummer Don Murray who became an illustrator and almost single handedly created the hang glider according to some sources. No, it was John Barbata, a little known drummer in the scheme of things but a pioneer in the art of converting the sympathetic drumming of the 50s into the power pop of the 60s. He played for Crosby Stills and nash and both incarnations Jefferson.

Just so tou know.........Ill get my anorak now
