Thanks: Gave 88, Got 16 | Music for clarity?
I want to hear how clear my ageing setup (sony dav-s800) is before i bite the bullent and buy another setup.
What music is best for clarity? Classical? is so, what would be a decent album to get and try?
THanks

Try the 'About A Boy' soundtrack by badly drawn boy. Crystal clear.

Some Electronica has good "clarity" - expect you need something that is punchy and covers the spectra. Aphex Twin: Bucephalus Bouncing Ball (you can find this on the pi soundtrack, but there are much better cd versions out there) Autechre: Gantz Graf (also a good dvd version of this) - perhaps not clarity but certainly fills out the spectra - *beware this could be considered a hard listen!

I tend to use Queen Greatest Hits 2 for a lot of my tests - headphones, systems etc.
Lots of varied music on it.

either of Joni Mitchell's 'Night Ride Home' or 'Hejira', both excellent recordings that I use to test systems.
