Does this sound callous? Who can’t you bare to watch?

As much as i enjoyed snow patrol I cant bear to watch him sing live.
Do you think that something that's taboo and should not be aired or is it fair game for discussion. I could never ever like the police music because of watching sting doing those horrid lip perching things rock stars do. Dose anyone else think the same and maybe dose not talk about it. How much of what we see effects what we hear. Ever heard a good song on the radio then seen the artist sing it, and think i cant bare to watch them. who cant you bare to watch?

Re: Dose this sound callus who cnat you bare to watch.

I just can't bare to watch any bass player who thinks they can dance and play bass at the same time, they just end up looking complete nobs
- usually every session bassist who tours with a band, Mark King, and that **** from Status Quo (the bassist )

... as brilliantly realised by here:

They're so boring, depressing, monotone, just crap basically.

Guy Pratt, the Floyd bassist throughout the late 80's and 90's - cringeworthy to watch.

Alex Lifeson - the dodgy jackets and gurning

Anyone remember "The Proclaimers" ??

Watching those 2 idiots sing and gurn at the same time was really cringeworthy.. Their mouths were bigger than their guitars!!!

I don't mind him but Jon Carin (keyboards) does annoy me. It's the crappy suits he wears. He looks like he should be in a dodgy neon lit nightclub, circa 1985.

Also don't like Tim Renwick (second guitarist). He looks like someones dad's wondered on stage, lost from a Status Quo gig.

Getting away from Floyd, Tracy Thorn is a turn off. Great voice and I don't mean she's ugly. I just don't like her face.

Also, please dont use capitals for your entire reply.....most interpret this as the internet equivalent of shouting, which is covered in the forum rules here...

Ouch! Sorry, no offence intended. Probably should have put one of these at the end. And yes, it was in reference to the post about not seeing anything wrong with the title.

I get on a high horse about spelling sometimes. My bad!

The Moderators for each forum are listed at the bottom right of the main page in each forum.

In this case the Moderator happens to be some bloke called Mylo.

So I've changed the thread title for you

Yeah, have to agree with Madonna. I did go to her last concert - very expensive and whilst I loved the music and how she had remixed a lot of her work, when she was gyrating with some of the male dancers it reminded me of a Grandmother attempting to dirty dance a grandson....

Re: Does this sound callous? Who can’t you bare to watch?

I bought Jammie Cullen second Cd Twenty something when it come out enjoyed it speshly track 13 still get it out to play that track. Bought his first one on hearing that. Then saw him on some tv show he a very nice guy. Saw him play at Glastonbury via the arm chair on bbc2 and the live performance left me so cold. Did not want to go there again. I wanted something more Somber From someone i quite enjoyed listening to. So its my problem not the performers. It quite put me off Dad said there was a guy called Jerry Lee Lewis! Reminded him of him. Said he did all that stuff ...

I should really balance this out by saying now who i Really like to watch. I been Tracking down Guitar players I like in the jazz world. I found Clips of Wes Montgomery who seems radiant someone who actually giving it 100% and a joy for me anyway to watch And discover him.

who's wes well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zHGw-YMU7Q

sadly theres now no wes on youtube i see because someone complained copyright issues

It's probably the music. I know it makes me want to throw up in disgust at its inaneness.

Any 'hair metal' band. The facial contortions of the guitarists (and anybody else really!) the 'phallic' mic bit, the heavily posed stage acts, the constant dreary emphasis on sleaze in the songs, and with so many scantily clad women in every video that you can see why it was so easy for whole the Rap-metal thing to emerge. Yeeeeeeeurgh!

The Chili peppers send-up of them was chillingly accurate.
