record fade

Why do they Fade songs i hate the fade at the end. We all know the musicians come to a grinding halt why do they not in this day and age of the CD and the actual amount of space they have to play with on it let us hear the whole dam thing. Any one else agree that often towards the end of a song two things happen can spoil it. One the Fade why because often you can hear that the musicians are really warmed up by the end of the tune and there going for it in a big way and some git fades it. Then there is the other annoyance for example Mum was playing Pilot of the Airways By Charlie Dore In the car And its really neat song spoilt by the ending actually being turned up and up before the fade. So annoying.

finnished my rant now LOL

I have not noticed much in the way of engineered fading on most of my recent albums. I think it usually gets applied to singles that have long intro/outro and then get transfered to CD albums or greatest hit compilations.
