Michael Brecker RIP

I just found out today that the great Michael Brecker passed away a few days ago.
Unbelievably sad news, as he was so young (57).

He was possibly the greatest tenor saxophone player of his generation, and even if you have never heard of him, you will almost certainly have heard him play on albums too numerous to mention.
I met him briefly in Manchester at a concert many years ago (together with his brother Randy) and he seemed so completely unassuming, oblivious to the massive talent that he had.
I for one will really miss his playing.

Phil

Re: Michael Brecker RIP

Cold chill!!!

As I read this post, East River is playing on my hi-fi! Spooky or what.

Another great musician gone. Proof indeed that there is no God; if there was he'd take a boy band instead.
