GLASTONBURY THE MOVIE dvd Poor quality image

Hi

Went to see this at the cinema a few weeks a go & was desperate for the dvd to watch again.

How disappointing, for anyine who doesn't know this a movie made by julian temple with video & super 8 footage sent to him from festival goers un broadcast material from the last 35 years.

Unfortunately the live clips from the last 5 years are so severely compressed it makes ITV 1's world cup coverage look fantastic. On checking the disc the live footage goes down to 2.2Mbps how poor..... Yet the older video & super 8 footage is at 7 to 8 Mbps.

I am really disappointed with this release & would like to warn others of the poor quality output. Which is a shame because the movie has a lot going for it & actually works from a historical & keeps you interested & doesn't linger for too long.

Oh well rant over

regards

Gary

It was shown on BBC HD last week, although most of it wasn't in HD as you can imagine. I thought the quality was reasonable considering the age and source. It would be interesting to know how it compared to the DVD.

Hi

The strangest thing is, is that it is the BBC footage from 2002 to 2005 that is mainly affected, I couldn't believe how blocky the image was & skin tones where actually orange
