Yes very sad news, another 60's icon has gone to the great gig in the sky.I recently read the Floyd Biog by Nick Mason and it seems tragic that such a talent was wasted by too much drug experimentation in an all to brief career.

Whilst i agree to a point, I'm not sure that in Syd's situation the term drug "experimentation" can be used. It is my belief that Syd's drug use was a reaction to a fragile mind not being able to cope with the increasing commitments (such as they were) of being in a touring band. But whatever, I just hope that he managed to find the peace and solace he so desired in his life.

Shine on Syd.

Syd Barrett.

The light that burns twice as bright, burns for half as long.
