New Muse and Johnny Cash albums

Both albums were leaked a while back and the Muse one is now even on myspace in all its glory. Both have also been getting incredible reviews from fans and critics alike. So what's everyone's view of them?

Here's a pro review of each: http://www.mansized.co.uk/tags/t.phtml/Music

Personally, I feel the Muse album may be their best yet. It's an incredible piece of work. The Cash album, meanwhile, almost brought me to tears - it's almost hard to listen to (in a good way, of course).

I bought Black Holes and Revelations today. Ive avoided the bittorrent leak and only listened to the first couple of songs on their myspace.. Ive been waiting for the real deal and now I have it. Im at work at the moment but Im planning on ripping it soon so I can hear it at lunchtime. Bring it on.

A quick word of warning for those buying the jewel case package of the Muse album.....
The central bit that holds the CD in place is made of that nasty clear plastic that snaps when you look at it. I picked up 20 copies in my local shop before I found a case that was not broken. - Give it a shake, if it rattles it has broken and the cd will fall out when you open it.

Easily the best album of 06, utterly brilliant bit of work from Bellamy and co, I'm going to have to use some self-discipline not to over play this.

And its nicely engineered, not like some of their previous recordings.

Been listening to Radio 2 this week in the afternoon's as Mark Radcliffe is covering for Steve Wright; anyways he happened to play a track called "if you could read my mind" off the new Johnny Cash Album "American 5 - A hundred highways".

This track genuinely chilled my spine when i heard it, the emotion in Cash's voice is just amazing. I've never heard a song performed with such honesty. Even Radcliffe was lost for words after he played it.

Now I know the story of the "legendary" Johnny Cash but have never really listened to his music other than the usual well known tracks, however this single play of a one track on the album was enough to make me turn off the M1 at the next junction with a decent sized town to pick a copy of the album up!

Pick yourself a copy up even if it's not what you'd normally listen to. Certainly not an uplifting album but stunning

The whole album's just so poignant and sad, its a dying man's last work, written (apart from the covers) and performed in the full knowledge, I suspect, that it would be a posthumous release. Certainly one the most emotional collections I've listened to in ages.

Also recommend American IV - The Man Comes Around which features his lovely yet sorrowful interpretation of NIN's Hurt as well as his great version of Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus; the promo video of Hurt should also be on the enhanced/bonus DVD version of the album.

As regards Muse's new album, does anyone know if there's a version with bonus DVD, just like Absolution when it came out?

I love the new Muse album. Favourite tracks are 'Starlight' & 'Exo-Politics'.

Best description I've come across of those dodgy Jewel cases why can't they just standardise them to a high robust standard?

All I've heard is a live song from a TV chat show which I thought was remarkable(live). So much so on that strength alone I've placed an order for it & soon will be placing order for concert tickets.
