What contraversey!-? The hot's all gone out of the Peppers. The current Peppers don't crank my tractor like the originals did. I saw 'em live in '83, hit me (!), they yertled my turtle. When the guitarist croaked and drummer quit, they lost that funky feelin'. I bought one of their albums since A.D. and it was so bland...All I need are the original 3 Chili Peppers albums, my themos, and that chair. That's all I need!
The worst album I've bought lately is Matthew Sweet & Susanna Hoff's Under The Covers Vol. 1. It could be a fun album of covers. They sounded great on TV doing Cinnamon Girl live. However, the SQ of the CD is so poor. It's hard to tolerate. The levels are way over the top and very audibly distorted. I could enjoy a REAL copy of this album on a competent format or even competently mastered to CD.
The best album I've bought lately is Drywall with Stan (Wall Of Voodoo) Ridgeway's latest, Babylon Barbeque. If you miss Wall Of Voodoo, this is another good thing. Stan's trademark sound is ever, ever, present.
