First UK dates announced on official website:

29 Sep 06 - Astoria, London
30 Sep 06 - Manchester University
1 Oct 06 - Carling Academy Glasgow

http://www.seetickets.com

Saw them at the Astoria in 2003, and they were amazing. For anyone who has recently purchased any of their albums, you must see them live.

The link is wrong.
Should be http://www.myspace.com/porcupinetree

Looking forward to the tour as well.
Wonder if the UK shows will be in 5.1 as some in the USA were?

I've just got into Porcupine Tree, after initially not liking them, and am looking forward to this DVD. Deadwing and In Absentia are awesome, especially on DVD-A. Can anyone recommend their other best albums? Lightbulb Sun appears to be unavailable at the moment, so maybe this is being prepared for DVD-A release? I have heard that this is one of their best albums.

Simon6776 - Lightbulb Sun, is indeed a great album. If you can, try and get your hands on a copy of Stupid Dream. It's just been re-released, via the Burning Shed website, and is a double package CD and DVD-A.

Both LS and SD are very different in style to IA and DW. They are not as heavy, but still contain great tunes. I think it just highlights how far a band can come in a few years.

Before that Signify and Up The Downstair are also excellent. I would avoid On The Sunday Of Life, as this would probably put you off at this stage. It's more a collection of old songs, rather than a cohesive album.

As I mentioned in a previous post, they're touring in Sep/Oct. If you get the chance I would recommend going, as they're great live.

Happy listening!

Thanks! I have just pre-ordered the CD / DVD-A of Stupid Dream, and have managed to download Lightbulb Sun, which will do for now. Listening to it at the moment, and yes, it's not as heavy as IA and DW, but still sounds good. Do you know if they are planning to remix the whole catalogue into DVD-A form? Would be great if they did.

Not sure about the whole catalogue, but there are rumours that a Lightbulb Sun DVD-A may see the light of day at some point, although nothing has been officially confirmed. Steven Wilson is an extremely busy man, who is involved in many different side/solo projects, so I can't see it being any time soon.
Having said that the new PT album is due for release early next year, and apparently they will be playing some of their new material at the shows in Sep/Oct.
Also worth checking out are Blackfield and Opeth, both associated with Mr Wilson.

Never heard of Blackfield, but I think I have heard Opeth, and didn't like the grunting vocals.

Fair enough, it's an acquired taste. Although their album Damnation is completely devoid of any Cookie Monster vocals, and is really good. Steven Wilson produced it, and his influence is all over it
