FAO anyone with Dido CDs

I have both of the Dido CDs and while I like both, esp the first, they both seem to be dodgy recordings. Both have crackle noises that sound exactly as if they are recorded from vinyl master albums that are badly scratched.
On I'm no angel, this is very obvious on track 10 (title track) from about 20 secs in.
On Life for rent, it's very obvious on track 7 and others.

Before I buy replacement CDs, can anyone tell me whether their copies have similar faults??

Thanks!

I think that's just some 'Low-fi' studio wizardry going on mate, it's certainly just as annoying on my copies of the albums....

god knows why it's there though.... I'm blaming Eminem's bad influence...

Thanks for that. Yeah, I wondered if it was deliberate too (the production is amazing otherwise) but if it was, it didn't impress me either.
Cheers

If it's of any use there on mine as well, it's annoying more than artistic yet it crops up on loads of CD's.

Don't mind admitting it; with three teenage kids you need a little tranquility now and then . And those replies have done the job nicely.

Red face

I'm past the age where being cool meant something. Now i just do what i want and if that includes listening to Dido every now and then, so be it.
When i now look back at what cool music was,i realise what a load of rubish it turned out being.

Sounds like someone else going through middle age crisis; I'm glad I'm not the only one . And true, there was some Godawful music around, especially in the 80s. Then my early years were nearly ruined by my sister's addiction to Bay City rollers. No-one said this game was easy though.

Have you tried a sports car yet?
