Need to replace my copy of Dark Side Of the Moon.

My copy of this classic on CD is knackered- used it in the car player too much.
Question to all you good people, Do I go and Buy a replacement CD or do I go and try and find a good copy of 12" vinyl
This could be a hard choice for me because I don't have the facility to copy the vinyl to CD for use in the car. but I would love the 12" version.

If you have the cash...buy the SACD version as a useable copy, and then look for a good vinyl copy.

There are still decent copies around, but obviously the Mobile Fidelity ones are still THE best if you can find them and are prepared to pay the premium.

Yea I'd buy both The 30th Anniversary SACD/CD hybrid and Mobile Fidelity or Japanese Vinyl variant. You could buy the same Anniversary edition on Vinyl. Some copies are excellent but I guess it's more luck of the draw whether you pick up a good recording/pressing.

Alternatively if just want a copy primilary for the car just buy a cheap s/h or new CD and the sheckels you save go and put it towards a super duper Vinyl recording

The sacd version is superb. I have seen it in the past at very reasonable prices.

If you have an SACD player then the SACD/Hybrid from 2003 is the one to go for.

If you only have a CD player I'd go for the Jap import over the MFSL copy and the 2003 hybrid.

You could also try and track down the DTS disc from the web.........

HMV charge a fortune for the SACD version, I got mine in Fopp for about £8 a year or so ago.
