Excellent. Playing The Angel sounds great in 5.1 (prefer the DVD-A to the SACD though I have to say) but it will be nice to hear what is done with their back catalogue...Music For the Masses and Violator will be essential purchases for me.

Hmm, yet ANOTHER attempt to wring money out of Depeche Mode fans . When will the exploitation end?

I don't think we are forced to buy this stuff though are we? Although I can't wait for Black Celebration. Just hope the 2 channel mix is mastered better than say Playing The Angel was, which imo sounds horrendus.

Simon Heyworth did indeed do the multi channel mixes of Once Upon A Time and New Gold Dream..allthough Charlie Burchill did have a lot to do with the remasters too

He also mastered Cry for SM too.

If he does as good a job as he did with the afore mentioned mixes the DM stuff should sound amazing.

Speak & Spell, Music For The Masses & Violator are all listed on CD Wow for a tenner with a release date of 3rd April. They're SACD and DVD combo's, I guess the same as Angel was. Can't wait

yeah, I think the macro site has them to be released in april but on the message boards people are saying that they are going to be pushed back until mid/late 2006. As for the extra's most have already been available, but maybe not remastered. It would be nice if they had put out something we've not seen or heard before, like demo's or live stuff, especially from the World Violation Tour. I've got 5 songs from the soundboard from that tour so there must be more.

Depeche In Concert

Already seen them on this tour in Antwerp and Paris (Twice) really good shows a lot better than the exciter tour and the guys really seem to be enjoying themselves this time round.

Really looking forward to Manchester show on the 30th March and then I have to wait till July for their summer outdoor shows at Wercheter and Leipzig with Goldfrapp supporting them.

Glad I am not the only one who travels across Europe to see them too.

Dusseldorf was a bit of a let down, but Copenhagen was excellent (if freezing cold and I mean in the venue). Douai, Rotterdam, Bratislava and Budapest to come as well as the 5 UK dates.

Goldfrapp are supporting in Bratislava too apparently aswell as the Hyde Park show and in Budapest we get Placebo.

Wink Depeche In Concert

Nice to hear also that someone else MOTR travels Europe to see Depeche, wanted to do the O2 festival in Hyde Park but have a wedding reception that weekend some people are so inconsiderate lol.

Already seen Goldfrapp at Birmingham Academy and they were really good Alisons voice was amazing that night.

New single Suffer Well out on the 27th of this month with the Remasters to follow gonna be an expensive few month me thinks.

Keep on Modeing

Yeah, I see Goldfrapp support Duran Duran in 2004 in Manchester and they sounded pretty good. I think they will be more suited to a Depeche crowd, although they went down well with the DD crowd too.

saw goldfrapp about 3 times now and they are very good live. Not sure why DM didn't record the dusseldorf shows for the dvd as that was a huge place and although they've always been able to fill huge places, they seem to film small arenas. Pasadena the obvious exception.
Hopefully the Milan gig looks impressive on the dvd and sounds better than ONIP!
Some extras would be VERY welcome too. I won't go into the songs played as people might not want to know, but I'm sure they could put in 3 or 4 songs as bonuses that were not played during the Milan shows but played at other shows.

The Dusseldorf shows were pretty lame though. Poor crowd, poor sound (especially the first night). The Copenhagen show was much better and I think it being an old style football ground certainly helped.

I had a similar position for all 3 shows (2 in Duss) and have to say the sound was so much better. I actually record the gigs I go to and it really was noticeable how poor the sound was in Dusseldorf (night 1) and that very close to the mixing desk, where it should sound very good.

Anyone got the first batch of remasters released yesterday yet? CD Wow shipped my MFTM yesterday. Seems they are still waiting for Violator to arrive. I did not bother with Speak & Spell, though I'll probably end up convincing myself I need the set .

Lol, my Violator got shipped from CD Wow yesterday but MFTM is pending...I think we must have got the last of each one

Really looking forward to hearing them though. I am going to see what the DTS 5.1 mix is like before I buy S&S though.

The show last week at the Manchester MEN was amazing...allthough the sound of that place really is terrible. I loved the live version of Home that blends the Air remix with the album version...stunning! The live set is brilliant too with the big LCD screens.

I saw the show in Manchester and agree with the comments above.

Not seen them live before and I think the set was just about right, a good mix between the new and the classics. Personal Jesus I thought went down particularly well.

The lighting and video effects were excellent, especially when they found the pretty young lady on Just Can't Get Enough.

I'm glad its not me that thought the sound in the arena was not too hot a bit too boomy.

Top show though.

(£27.50 for my ticket plus booking)

Yes, that was a memorable moment...allthough it is a shame the camera did not stay on her a bit longer as I think she was building up to something

Just finished listening to Violator and I am very impressed.

Not listened to the SACD mix yet but the DTS 96/24 multi channel mix is superb...lots of things in there that I had never heard on the original release and the whole album sounds fresh.

The 30 minute documentary is pretty good too...nothing too in depth or revealing but when all the releases are out it should combine to give an adequate history of the bands albums.

Looking forward to MFTM now and I think I will have to get Speak & Spell as well.

I thought the sound in Manchester sounded ok. I stood in front of the mixing desk area for all 4 UK shows and whilst Wembley was so so, Manchester & Birmingham sounded fine.

I know what it's like in the seats though at Manchester, I was in them on the 2001 tour and didn't think it was too great.

Regarding the remasters, ordered MFTM and Violator yesterday via amazon.co.uk. For some strange reason, they are selling Violator cd/dvd set for just £7.99 and MFTM for £10.99 which I thought was pretty good for Amazon.

Not anymore they are not. There also seem to be selling single disc SACD versions only, had not realised they were releasing two versions.
My MFTM and Violator arrived from Wow, gave them a quick spin. Initial thoughts on the SACD were nice involving surround mix but a little flat in the sound. The DTS on the DVD was a bit more lively. Could not really crank them up much though, waiting for the w/e to do that

Leipzig

I going to see Depeche in Leipzig (Germany) on the Sat 15th July a huge outdoor venue think it holds about 70,000. I definitely have one spare ticket for this show maybe two (will know about second ticket by the end of this month).

I was wondering if anyone on here was interested in buying a ticket for this show all i am looking for is the face value I payed for the tickets. (£45.00 each)

Would love to mate, I think i've pushed the missus' patience too much though this year as far as DM shows go
