Didn't know anything about this band untill I saw them perform on Jonathan Ross a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoyed the Sessions on BBC4. Good to see Marc Almond on there - didn't look very well but sang sublimely. Antony is a real talent imo. Just added the album to my xmas list |

Its a shame his tiresome voice of his gets in the way of those gorgeously "floral", melodic compositions. Very disciplined, well-judged arrangements, hampered by painful whining in the background
His work is crying out to be covered/re-interpreted by someone who can actually add a decent voice to the mix - one that will compliment these meandering, rose-tinted daydreams and help uncover the true beauty of his music.
Any suggestions as to who would be capable of such a task? I think falsetto's are out of the question - we need the sexually unrequited/virginal touch of a young female voice.
well, I've thought about it for a bit, and am buggered if I know

Not a female voice but think the voice of David Mcalmont would suit.

Hmm, still very falsetto, but infinitely more listenable than Anthony's!
Good call

| Personally I liked his voice but, saying that, I wouldn't go about recommending that everyone should get a copy of the album as more than a few would probably be a bit peeved off with his style. As falsetto's go though, it's better than Justin Hawkins Quote: |

| jimnorth, sorry mate I've just deleted it from my sky+ otherwise I would have sent you a copy. Not sure if the show is repeated again but Antony & The Johnsons are on Jools Holland this Friday (23rd Dec.).
