Thumbs down Chemical Brothers - Push the Button

Got this yesterday and gave it a first listen last night (through some headphones). Gotta say I wasn't overly impressed there were no absolute stand out tunes and the expected hard hitting techno 'slam' has dissappeared from their sound. The presentation seems much 'softer'. Some of the tracks are OK but there were none I wanted to give a second listen to.

IMHO it is not a terrible album but it is their worst to date. Perhaps on a second listen, cranked up through some speakers it'll deliver!

Any one else heard it? Opinions?

Just had a quick listen on iTunes and it doesn't inspire me to want to buy it.

Agreed, apart from Galvanize which I thought was fantastic there's nothing else on the album that's grabbed me.

I'm loving track 2 with Tim Burgess (can't remember track name). The album seems to have less ambient stuff than there others, shame.

I've been listening to a promo for the last couple of week and I quite like it.
Galvanize, Believe and Hold Tight London (I think) I really like. Rest of the album is pretty decent to excellent I think.

'Galvanize', 'Hold Tight London' and 'Surface to air' are top tunes IMHO.

I think it is a bit of a grower as well. Well worth the £0 the promo copy cost me.

Definitely a grower-doesn't come into it's own until you've had a chance to hear it loud! Hate the copyright protection, though, can't even dump it down to MD (I know, I know-outdated technology...)
