Question Classical Music DVD-A ?

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend any good classical music DVD-A. I listen to Classic FM a lot in the car, but being the ignoramus I am don't really know much about classical music. Recently heard a version of Vivaldi's 4 Seasons on DVD-A and it sounded really good. Any other recommendations of composer/performerances on DVD-A? Preferably good music and good use of the DVD-A format.

Many thanks for any replies.

Cool

Gustav Holst - The Planets is on DVD-A .
I do not know how good it is on DVD-A but it is a one of the best classical pieces of work which at least you should know Mars from it.

Thanks for that

Ordered from play.com. Comes with DTS 5.1 etc etc. At £8.99 I can't go wrong (didn't realise DVD-As were so resonably priced 'til now). Also bought 4 Seasons. Should be good as a couple of starters.

Vivaldi's Four Seasons is one of the popular pieces, do not know if this is what you are on about.

Right, got 4 Seasons and the Planets. Both are excellent BTW but as above, the Planets DVD doesn't seem to do much with 5.1 channels, though sound quality and music are good.

Any more suggestions for classical music DVD-As that anyone has bought?

Thanks,

RDB

PS It's a bit of pain with DVD-A that you have to switch on your telly and go through the menu's to get DTS. I think I noticed this point in another thread and have got to agree it's a bit of a downside to DVD-A.
