Damageplan - Dimebag Darrell shot dead

BBC News Article

Apparently some random bloke got on the stage and opened fire last night.
Reading the BBC report and message boards on the Damageplan website, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (formerly of Pantera) has been killed and so have 4-5 other people including the gunman.

Pantera was one of my favourite bands and Damageplan were shaping up to be pretty good too.
Heavy Metal have lost one of their best.

I was lucky enough to see them live on the reinventing the steel tour and had hoped to see them again. they were mind blowing on stage, hopefully we will be able to still hear vinnie again.
R.I.P dimebag and 'Watch it Go!'

awful news
RIP Dimebag
From reports it seems 3/4 other people were also killed and a number of others injured - no idea if any memebers of Damage plan were killed/injured.
My thoughts are with those involved.

Words can't express how deeply saddened and disturbed I am at how one of the most influencial rock legends has been taken from us. Dimebag Darrell was the definition of rock and roll. His music was an inspiration and he will be dearly missed. No-one will ever be able to replace him.

R.I.P Dimebag. Your music lives on.

I used to read his articles in Guitar magazines - this is just awful.

RIP all that lost their lives and my thoughts & condolences to all suffering friends and families
