Question Plugging my band - Ruff Justice

Hey guys, I thought I'd throw myself to the lions:

My band have done a bit of recording and I'd like some open feedback. The website is: http://ruffjustice.dmusic.com./

They were all pretty much done with one take as time was limited. Also the singer had a cold so we are going to retake all the vocals at some point....

Anyway, please feel free to make any comments either on that site or here.

Had a listen, sounds all good mate, good musicians and having read that the vocalist had a cold makes sense The tracks kept buffering though which spoilt it a bit but I'd happily listen to more of it.

regards, Mylo

Sorry, I don't like it, sounds like a blazing squad type name (sorry no offence)

The name is reminiscent of 80's heavey rock. So I was quite looking forward to it.
No doubt that you are competant musicians.
Like the vocalist. Nice tone and vibrato.
Like the tom sound. What drums are they? The production on the drums is a little flat. Maybe. And definitely uninspired.
To my ears the lead guitar is the tinyest bit sharp on more than one track.
Not something most people would notice, though.
Now That The Magic Has Gone is pleasant enough if a little unexciting. Nice BVs.
Good production on the Bass in Help The Poor. Questionable choice of notes from the vocalist.
I'm afraid I don't like Always On The Run.
Reminds me of Hendrix but it's got no groove or zip to it. IT doesn't really go anywhere. And the vocalist's cold is really having an effect on the higher notes.
Josie is much more interesting. Musically not my cup of tea (not heavy enough) but good vocal harmonies, more interesting arrangement and decent groove.
As I say, you are all clearly competant on your instruments and the music is tight enough. Sorry if it sounds negative but overall I think the music is lacking spark. It sounds very measured and needs more passion in the writing and maybe in the playing, too. But my opinion only matters to me.

I'm with Stuart on this one, it's ok but not great...and yes, the name needs to go...it sounds like a gay american prison band if you know what I mean, like Tuff Love or something similar...

Thanks guys,

we are only doing it in aour spare time and we did have limited time in the studio. We are wondering whether to go back and do a couple of more instantly recognisable songs.

I really liked the Steely Dan cover. The blues tracks were decent enough but maybe a bit lacking in something. Pretty good, I'd say. Don't like the name though.
